Nepal and Tibet

 

This travel combines the visits of both Nepal and Tibet, the visit of Kathmandu valley with its Newari culture and architectures. Then you will enjoy Pokhara, a city with several lakes situated at the foot of the Annapurnas. Four days trip to Tibet will give you a glimpse of the Tibetan culture, visit of Potala Palace and monasteries.

Description

Day 1 : Arrival at Kathmandu
You will be received and transferred to your Hotel. After a refreshment visit ofSwayambhunath Stupa, one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage site. Return to the hotel in evening.

Day 2 : Kathmandu sightseeing
Visit of Pashupatinath, the holiest Hindou temple of lord Shiva. Visit ofBodhnath Stupa and Patan, the capital of art and handicraft.

Day 3 : Fly to Lhasa
Fly to Lhasa airport and transfer (95 km) to the hotel. It takes 2 hours to go to Lhasa through the YerlungTsangpo and the Lhasa Kyichu River.

Day 4 :Visit of Lhasa and around
In the morning, we visitPotala palace, the seat of both religion and politics in Tibet. It was built in the 7th century by a Tibetan king SongtsenGampo and later renovated by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century. During the afternoon, we go to Sera monastery, located 5 kilometers north of Lhasa city. It was built in 1419 by JamchenChoeji, a disciple of Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelugpa sect. Sera is one of the three major monasteries of the yellow sect in Tibet.

Day 5: Lhasa and Jokhang temple
In the morning, we visitDrepung monastery, which is the largest Monastery of the Gelugpa sect in Lhasa, which was built in 1416 by Jamyangchojie a disciple of Tsongkhapa. In the afternoon, we go to JokhangTemple and Barkhor market, which is the holiest shrine in Tibet and houses of golden statue of the Shakyamuni Buddha which was brought to Tibet by the Chinese princess Wenchen.

Day 6 :Fly Lhasa- Kathmandu
Departure from Lhasa to Kathmandu and transfer to the Hotel. Afternoon free.

Day 7 :Fly Kathmandu-Pokhara
Transfer to the domestic airport to take a flight to Pokhara. Refreshment walk around Phewa Lake and boating.

Day 8 : Pokhara
We wake up early in the morning to watch the sunrise view from Sarangkot. Return to the Hotel for the breakfast. At 10 am you will start the visit of Devi’s fall, Gupteshwar Cave, International Mountain museum, Seti Gorge and BindhyaBasini Temple.

Day 9 : Fly from Pokhara to Katmandu and transfer to Nagarkot
You will take a flight in the morning to Kathmandu, sightseeing to Bhaktapur and transfer to Nagarkot. A beautifull hill station with magic views on the Himalayan mountain range.

Day 10 : Transfer to Kathmandu
Transfer to Kathmandu, this is the moment to explore old Kathmandu and the spices market:AsonTol, Indra Chowk. Visit of Thamel.

Day 11 : International Departure
Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport 3 hours before your flight.
